Around Osaka

I've just been going around Osaka for a couple of days. Dontonbori is really close to were I am staying. It's kind of like a mini Time Square, all lit up with signs, advertising, and people all over. The street is mostly full of places to eat and other streets around are all bars or places to shop. They have what they call hostess clubs here. You basically by a booth like in a bar and pay a girl (or guy) to have drinks with you. There are guys and girls on the corners trying to pick up people to get them into the hostess places. They don't bother with foreigners, only the Japanese would be willing to pay just for company. I just go to a bar.

One day I went to the Korean area of town. It wasn't much different exempt from a small crammed shopping arcade that was like a maze. Then there is the Umeda Sky Building. A weird looking sky scraper that was built to revive the area. It didn't really work, so the only interesting thing is the building itself.

The famous running man neon sign.
The crab moves it's arms and legs.

Didn't you know? Obama endorses Japanese drinks as a side job.

The perfect dress for any woman. This is in fashion... right?

  1. The tall building with the metal scaffolding has a cool view from the top. But it takes away from the building design. Looks like it's not finished or maybe it's not? Keep up the great work.
