Nara

Less than an hour east of Osaka is the city of Nara. It has a lot of shrines, temples and a huge park. Nara can be summed up as, temples, school kids, and deer. School groups were all over as a constant flowing river of kids in their school sailor outfits. Then the deer. These things are all over the damn place and are completely used to people. If you considered hunting deer with you bare hands this is the place. In fact you can buy deer biscuits all over for 150 yen to feed them. A common hilarious scene was people with biscuits being swarmed by deer, and then the person would completely freak out in a panic. An interesting thing was the cries of the school boys was the same as the girls, a high pitched squeal. I walked around moving temple to shrine, some you needed to pay to go inside, but I didn't see the point as you see mostly everything from the outside.

I've seen house cats more wild than these deer.
